The Community Alarm service works via a special alarm unit connected to your telephone line.
The alarm unit has a built in button, which you press to obtain assistance. You can also activate the alarm by a pendant which is worn around the neck or on a wrist band. The range of the pendant allows use around your house and garden.
Once pressed the alarm button sends signals down the telephone line to the alarm centre where specialist equipment automatically tells staff who the call is coming from.
The alarm call will be answered by our trained staff who will able to speak to you without you having to lift the telephone up. In an emergency, the controller will get help to you quickly such as an ambulance, or if you simply need some help one of our support workers will come round to see you, or we will contact your family members on your behalf.
Don't worry if you press the alarm by accident this often happens. The operator will respond and make sure you are alright. Once you tell us you do not need assistance the call will be ended.
